Phil Hrvatin
Saxophone & Clarinet

A music student of Polka Hall of Famer, Lou Sadar, Phil performed with a number of Cleveland-Style bands including Dave Wretschko, Kenny Zagar, and even sitting in with polka great, Joey Miskulin. In 1985, his friendship and long musical association with Joey Tomsick began. That year, the Tomsick band was in its beginning stages and had already been invited on a concert tour of the West Coast. Lacking a saxophone player, Joey's father Ken contacted Phil who agreed to take the tour, and as they say... the rest is history!

Over the years, Phil & Joey have teamed up hosting tour groups around the world on Polka Tours & Cruises, not to mention all the regular performances with the JTO at festivals, weddings, dances, inaugurations and parties.

Phil also serves as the senior editor of www.clevelandslovenian.com. The website contains news from Cleveland and other parts of the world, and various links to other media, associations, parishes, etc., and has established itself as the central internet source for Slovenian communities throughout the United States.
